Singapore Rugby Tour 2015
On our arrival in Singapore we were
greeted firstly by the incredible heat/
humidity, and our tour group’s luxury coach
which transported us around Singapore for
the duration of the week. We checked in at
our hotel, unpacked, and had a wonderful
relaxing time in the hotel’s pool and spa
– thereafter we went for a leisurely walk
through the city to Clarke Quay – where we
enjoyed a scrumptious dinner.
On Tuesday the day got off to an early start
with breakfast at the Zoo - scrumptious
- more than the boys could ever have
imagined. We then journeyed by tram and
by foot to so many interesting corners of
the Singapore Zoo – the favourite for the
boys seemed to be the baboons – the boys
were fascinated by how the members of
this colony interacted with each other. A
comment was even made that it reminded
them of students playing during a lunch
break at school!
the reserve, seeing so many animals in
their natural habitat – with the appropriate
commentary – all very enjoyable and
informative.
After another scrumptious breakfast at our
hotel on Wednesday morning, we set about
experiencing the fabulous train systems
in Singapore (so many lessons for Perth
to learn from this) – the many changes of
stations and routes we had to take in the
pristine, meticulous and finely synchronised
underground system took us to the stunning
Gardens at the Bay – not only did the boys
appreciate the magnificent architecture,
spectacular gardens/landscaping, but
then spent an hour, or more, in a water
playground which had the boys in raptures
– they loved this. It just goes to show that
it is often the simple things that bring the
greatest pleasure.
After a lunch enjoyed in an exquisite
shopping complex – only designer stores,
with streams flowing through the building
and gondolas transporting the more romantic
from store to store, we journeyed back
to the hotel by train. The boys had some
critical quiet time in their rooms
