Zoe Langtry (Vice-Captain), North Quarter
– Braydon Fernandes (Captain) and Aidan
McCrum (Vice-Captain), South Quarter –
Brayden Scully (Captain) and Elijah Hewett
(Vice-Captain) and West Quarter – Earl
Wijayananda (Captain) and Will Bates (ViceCaptain).
Our Specialist Captains for 2015, nominated
by our Specialist Teachers are William
Bromage (Art), Braydon Fernandes (Chapel),
Grace Matthews (Library), Niall Overton
(Music) and Aidan McCrum (Sport).
All these Captains and Councillors committed
themselves to serve in their various capacities
by sharing a public pledge with all present at
this prestigious Assembly.
All other Year 6 students are given the
opportunity to serve as Monitors across
the school – we have Art Monitors, Chapel
Assistants, Library Monitors, Music Monitors,
Sport Monitors and Special Services Monitors
who fulfil duties such as lost property, setting
up the hall for Chapel/Assembly/Congo/
Time Out and raise the flag each morning.
In 2015 it has been extremely pleasing that
every one of our Year 6 students have taken
the opportunity to serve in at least one of
these various capacities.
Our Councillors were privileged to attend the
2015 National Young Leaders Day in the Perth
Exhibition and Convention Centre on 6 March
2015 – this opportunity made a very positive
impact on our young leaders, and certainly
placed them in an enthusiastic frame of mind
to make a difference in the school.
Our Councillors perform various duties across
the school on a daily basis – playground
duties during recess and lunch, sharing
their thoughts with the school at our Friday
Assemblies, doing wet weather duties in
their designated classes of responsibility,
having lunch with these classes on a Tuesday,
arranging fun-filled activities for the students
in their year of responsibility, presenting
students in their classes of responsibility with
birthday cards, congratulations cards, get
well cards and generally getting to know
these students. During the course of the
year our student leaders participate in and
perform in countless school functions, and
represent the school at IPSHA functions.
We thank our student leaders for the massive
contribution they make to the life of the
School, realising fully that these duties
and expectations add to their already full
workload in their academic work, sport
program and participation in areas of music
and drama. There can be no doubt that
this year of leadership and service stands
our boys and girls in excellent stead as they
develop into positive contributors to future
school years, and life beyond school.
We wish them well for whatever the future
holds for each of them.
To William and his team – we congratulate
and salute you for a job well done.

goes the way, and shows the way.”
