SENIOR SCHOOL
10.10am, I have the elective Chinese Z. This
is the final stage of the Chinese course for
juniors as a subject. We have been learning
about buying and selling, bargaining and
money concepts. This will culminate with an
excursion to Northbridge where we will put
our speaking skills to the test! At 11.10am
we all have recess where I usually play some
pool down at the House then buy a drink
from the Tuck Shop.
At 11.35am, I have period 3, which is Strive
Mathematics. At the moment we are doing
trigonometry and have just completed a test
on the topic. We have done trigonometric
ratios and how to work out a triangle’s sides
and angles. Maths is another one of my
favourite subjects as I have always found it
fun since I started school. After Mathematics
at 12.35pm, I have lunch. During lunch I
will grab something to eat, play some table
tennis then go to the library to do some
homework or play chess.
After lunch, at 1.20pm I have the subject
Biomes and Food Security, which is a Year
9 PLP course. During this course, we learn
about the climate and the world’s biomes.
It also covers food security, but that comes
later in the term. The final period of the day
is Chemistry Y at 2.25pm. This is the final
stage of Chemistry for Years 7-9. So far we
have covered a wide range of topics such as
polymers and equilibrium. At the moment we
are learning about chemistry calculations and
how to apply them to equations. Chemistry
has to be my favourite subject as it is really
fun and has many applications outside of
school. My aspirations for the future are
to do engineering, most likely chemical
engineering. Chemical engineering is a form
of engineering that I am seriously considering
and enjoying success in chemistry is a key
part in achieving my ambitions.
After the school day ends, at 3.45pm I attend
Chess Club. During the session we play
games against other students and learn many
different strategies used to defend against or
attack your opponent.
